Jane Shirley Aden Wade was born in Vicksburg on May 19, 1926. She went home to Heaven on February 21, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Tib Shirley. Her brother Sam (Sonny) Shirley Jr., her husband's Louis M. Aden, Sr. and L.T. Wade Jr.; her children; Louis (Mac) Aden Jr., Carolyn (Lyn) Aden Jarshaw, Nancy Aden Wansley, and Sandra Wade Baggett.
She is survived by her son, Merritt and daughter in love Debi Aden; her sons in love; David Wansley and Martin Jarshaw; her bonus children L.T. (Larry) Wade III, Kathy Wade Beasley, and Neal Wade; grandchildren; Steen Wansley (Anna), Aden Wansley (Cari), Jared Aden, Dr. Jane Jarshaw (Zach) Dr. Christen Jarshaw and Catherine Jarshaw Alizereet (Hussein); great grandchildren; Rivers Wansley, Will Wansley, Mason Landers, Bryleigh Landers, and Louis Wansley; her heart sister, Rickey Moore and dear friend Mary Hazel Weissinger.
She grew up and was educated in Vicksburg and attended All Saints and LSU. She accepted Jesus as her Saviour when she was 5 years old. She was a faithful member of Chapel of the Cross in Rolling Fork and later Christ Episcopal Church in Vicksburg. She married the love of her life, Louis Aden in 1948 and quickly became the epitome of the perfect farmer’s wife. She spent her years supporting her husband through feast and famine, floods and droughts. She raised her children to be people of strength and integrity. She loved a great party. Her favorite pastime was hosting parties for her children and their friends at their cabin at Lake Washington. She never met a crossword puzzle she couldn’t solve in INK! She loved to travel, play cards, read a great work of fiction and watch BBC. Her lifelong walk with Jesus and her unwavering faith infused her daily life.
Services will be Thursday, February 27, 2025, visitation 10am-11:00am with services to follow and burial at Vicksburg Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Steen Wansley, Aden Wansley, Jared Aden, Ros Shirley, Jeffery Mitchell, and Charlie Darden.
Honorary Pallbearers: William Moore and Charlie Weissinger.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice, Jessi Pennington, Lois DeFrance and her personal care sitters, Linda Bell, Gwen Franklin, Fetisa Campbell and Victoria Young.
