Jason Clay Burnside

Jason Clay Burnside passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was 46 years old. He was born in Carthage, MS on October 19, 1979 to George David “Bud” Burnside and Della Burnside Word. 

He is preceded by his wife, Samantha Burnside; father, George David “Bud” Burnside; brothers, Charlie Burnside and George Burnside.

He is survived by his mother, Della Burnside Word; stepfather, Walter “Ed” Word; sons, Charlie Burnside, Jase Burnside and Cass Burnside; sisters, Valerie Burnside and Mary Jane Burnside Stevenson (Wayne); brothers, George P. Burnside and David Burnside; nephew, Gavin Burnside; niece, Alisa Burnside Gregory; great-nephew, Chandler Gregory; great-niece, Mariah Gregory. 

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1607 Cherry Street, Vicksburg, MS, 39180 on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be one hour before the service. 

The family is grateful for outpouring of love, thoughts, prayers and visits.
