Jerry Lynch Obituary

Jerry Noln Lynch, 84 years of age, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.  He was born April 18, 1940, in Collinsville, Texas to Estelle and Virginia Lynch.  He was one of five children. He placed his faith in Jesus as his savior at the age of 19 and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Whitesboro, TX. He was a steadfast follower of Jesus, anchoring his life to the faith he professed.  He graduated from Whitesboro High School, as well as Austin College, where he studied chemistry. He worked as a chemist at Anderson Clayton in Texas and was later transferred to Vicksburg, where he raised his family.  He retired from Entergy but continued working, running a self-employed sandblasting/painting business. Jerry was a hard worker, tireless and diligent.

He was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary, for 65 years.  They have three children- Larry, Gary, and Terri.  They've made Vicksburg their home for over 50 years, and made an indelible mark on its community.  He was a member of Crossway Church, formally known as Bowmar Baptist, where he served faithfully as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, children's church worker, and youth worker.  He served on Crossway's missions council and never shied away from an opportunity to serve or share his faith.  All who knew him knew Jerry as kind, gentle, and a man of integrity. He was a man of optimism, having an innate knack for finding the humor in any situation.

Mr. Lynch is proceeded in death by his mother and father, and three siblings: Charles, Rita, and Leln.  He is survived by his wife, Mary, and his three children: Larry Lynch (Debbie) of Raymond, Gary Lynch (Missy) of Vicksburg, Terri Lynch of Baton Rouge and his sister Betty Stiles (Mike) of Cleburne,TX.  He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Hunter Lynch (Ellie) of Vicksburg, Zack Lynch (Keyera) of Clinton, and Rachel Lynch of Gulfport and two great granddaughters- Laney and Emmalyn Lynch.
