Jesse Rhodes Willis

Jesse Rhodes Willis died on Friday July 28, 2023.  Mr. Willis was born December 22, 1940, in the small city of Earle, Arkansas. The Willis Family moved to Mississippi when Jesse was in grade school. He attended Hollandale High School where he played baseball and was the quarterback of his high school football team. He followed in his father's footsteps and became a farmer by trade. 

Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, L.G. and Evelyn Taylor Willis, his brother Richard Willis, sons Chad and Thomas. 

He is survived by his brother L.G. "Buddy" Willis Jr. (Mila)of Vicksburg, children Jesse “Jess” Willis, Jr., (Pam) of Vicksburg , Wyndi Hensley (Robert) of Natchez, Taylor Willis of Valley Park, Mitchell Willis of Vicksburg ,Tyler Willis (Jennifer) of Valley Park, Rhonda Gilliam of Central Florida, EJ Creel (Jamie) of Brookhaven, KK Willis of Valley Park, Brady Morgan (Josh) of Vicksburg, Brittany Morgan (Bryce) of Sturgis, Luke Willis (Cherry) of Valley Park, 26 grandchildren , and 6 great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Jamie Creel, Josh Morgan, Bryce Morgan, R.G. Willis, Brian Holloway, Andrew Felt, Christian Hales, and Tim Barnette. Honorary Pallbearers are Argle Pennington, Charles Bernard and Jimmy Hollingsworth. 

Jesse loved his children more than anything and loved to farm with his boys and took pride in attending the girls basketball games. 

Visitation will be at Valley Park Baptist Church on Tuesday August 1, 2023, from 10:00am to 12:00pm with services immediately following.
