Jimmy J. Daquilla, Jr. passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025. He was 81 years old. He was born in McComb, MS on June 14, 1943, to Jimmy J Daquilla and Lennie Magee Arickson. He graduated from McComb High School and Mississippi State University. He had majored in Math. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty O'Quinn Daquilla in 1967.
He was a computer software system programmer. He worked at HMI and Vicksburg Hospital as a computer systems operator. He was an administrator at Vicksburg Clinic. He later retired from Sak's Fifth Avenue.
He was an advocate sports fan, who Loved his Mississippi State Bulldogs! He was a long time member of Bovina Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy J Daquilla and Lennie Magee Arickson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty O'Quinn Daquilla; son, Stephen Anthony Daquilla (Suzanne); daughters, Angela Stuart (David), Allyson Pitzer (Stephen) and Kelsey Alexander (Lee); sister, Norma Habeeb; grandchildren, Gunnar Daquilla, Carley Pitzer, Austin Alexander, Chandler Alexander, Haley Stuart, Skylar Pitzer and Daniel Pitzer; great-grandchildren, Stella Jayne Barlow, Westin Daquilla, Emma Quinn Barlow and Shepherd Daquilla.
Pallbearers will be Gunnar Daquilla, Austin Alexander, Daniel Pitzer, David Barlow, John Bowen, IV, John Bowen, III, Vic Lopez, and Brian Walls.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Brian Parker. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
