John Gilmore, Sr. Obituary

John Thomas Gilmore, Sr. passed away on April, 20, 2021 at the age of 75.

John was born on July 7, 1945, the son of John E. Gilmore and Anna Eugene Lightsey Gilmore.  He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy.  He was a retired electrician and was a member of the Local 480 IBEW for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Larry S. Gilmore.  

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Linda Horn Gilmore; his sons John T. Gilmore, Jr. (Sonia), James Shannon Gilmore (Shay) and William "Eddie" Gilmore (Crystal); daughter Susan Wilkerson (Tommy); brothers Billy F. Gilmore (Janet), Jimmy D. Gilmore (Sherrie); sister Janel Cisneros (Jesse); 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021. Rev. Jackie Barnes will officiate the service and Jim Bowman will serve as musician.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Gilmore, Jr., Adam Gilmore, Preston Gilmore, Shawn Criswell, Shane Gilmore, Jr. and Thomas Gilmore, Jr.
