John Hilding Groy, Jr.

John Hilding Groy, Jr. passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023. He was born in Princeton, IL. on June 12, 1951. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He attended Bradley University where he received a bachelor's degree in engineering. He was kind and generous. The best man God ever created. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Hilding Groy, Sr. and Mary Jane Ehringer Groy; daughter, Perri Mitchell. 

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Jean Simmons Groy; sons, Mike Mitchell (Charleen) and Matthew Mitchell; daughters, Paula Rushing, Pam Plummer, Patti Wood (Kevin), Penni Garcia (Manny); sisters, Nancy Borri (Bob), Linda Donaldson; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tim Brown officiating the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M until the hour of the service.
