Johnathan Daniel Beard, 37, of Vicksburg, MS, passed away on April 19, 2024. He was born on January 8, 1987.
Johnathan, also known as "Johnny," Johnny B, Scarecrow was a free spirit who had a deep passion for music, art, writing, and traveling. From a young age, he displayed his musical talents by playing piano, drums, and the tuba. He continued his musical journey by performing with various bands, including the band "Oakum," which he co-founded with his high school friends. Johnny's love for music extended to playing the guitar and banjo, often serenading passersby with his soulful tunes. In addition to his musical pursuits, Johnathan enjoyed cooking, drawing, and the art of creation. He found joy in turning ordinary objects into something beautiful. He enjoyed traveling all across the United States helping others and meeting lifelong friends. He was loved by many and will be missed tremendously. As Johnny would say, “love back”. Blessed.
He is preceded in death by his brother Chris Beard, Grandparents Ann McElhenney, DC & Pat Beard, and Jeannette McCurly.
Johnathan is survived by his children, Nicholi, Atticus, Tatum, and Jeanette Beard, Mother Regina McElhenney Foster and Stepfather David Foster, Father Melvin Beard and stepmom Lynn Beard. Sisters, Shelby Birdsong and husband Blake, Jessica Miller, Elizabeth Duell, Darian Mullins. Brothers Tristian Beard, Michael Foster, and Dennis Foster, step-brothers Josh McConahie, Jessie McConahie and Tory McConahie. Grandfathers John McElhenney (Marilyn), and Leon McCurly, Uncles and Aunts Scott McElhenney (Hope), Chucky Williams (Susan), David Beard, Glenn Foster (Kathy), Debra Herr (Jason), Brenda Bradley (Mark), Life Partner Hannah Johnson and several loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of friends.
A memorial service in honor of Johnathan's life will be held on April 29, 2024, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service. Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
