Joseph William Robertson, Sr. passed away April 7, 2026, at the age of 80.
Joseph was born in Brookhaven, MS on June 13, 1945, the son of Ted Mercer Robertson and Willie Marie Craft Robertson. He was a graduate of Brookhaven High School and attended Co-Lin College to pursue a degree in accounting. He retired from AT&T as a Construction Supervisor after 30 years of service. He was a Sergeant with the Army Reserves. He was an avid hunter, loved the Atlanta Braves, New Orleans Saints and western movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 39 years Cecilia Ann White Robertson and nephew Brooks Robertson.
He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Leigh Newton, son Joseph William Robertson, Jr., brother Kenneth Ray Robertson (Susan), grandchildren Taylor Rae Briggs (Silas), Nikolas Coon (Breanna), Lydia Newton, Kristian Crosby (Danielle) and Brittanie Robertson Tappan and great-grandchildren Tatum Drake Briggs, Kaydence Grace Briggs, Ripley Tappan, Hayden Daves and Audreigh Mattson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Glenwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Mary Lynch. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hayden Daves, Silas Briggs, Nikolas Coon, Zach Primeaux, and Randy Wright, Jr.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Lee Giffin, Dr. Rusty Barnes, Dr. Jonathan Flowers, and all of the staff at St. Joseph Hospice for the wonderful help over the years.
