Joyce "Jodie" Lee Houston Johnson

Joyce Lee Houston Johnson passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was 68 years old. She was born on November 29, 1957, to Otis A. Houston and Joyce Cadenhead Houston. She was very involved in the local theater and community activities. She loved to crotchet especially for her grandchildren, which she would spoil them by buying them everything. She loved the birds, plants, family and football especially her Ole Miss football.

She is preceded by her parents and granddaughter Ava Joyce Johnson.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David Johnson, one son Aubrey Joe (Alicia) Johnson, two daughters Ashley (Eric) Hesselberg, Allie (Ian) Derrick, and seven Grandchildren Charlotte Ann Johnson, Cedric Johnson, Oliver Hesselberg, Olivia Hesselberg, Ryan Derrick, John Reed Derrick and Conner Derrick.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America, Alzheimer's Association, Cancer Research or plant a tree.

A celebration of life will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on December 29, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be one hour before the service.  Everyone is requested to wear a shade of purple in remembrance.
