Kenneth Williams Obituary

Kenneth Daryl Williams, age 86, died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Emerald Coast Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, after a long illness.

Mr. Williams was born December 25, 1935, in Taylorsville, Mississippi, son of Aaron and Phenie Williams. He served in the US Air Force for 28 ½ years, retiring with the rank of Master Sgt. He was married to Dixie Williams; they celebrated 61 years of marriage in November, 2021. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Newellton, Louisiana. His love of music was manifested in choir directing, solo and quartet singing with his brothers.

Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter-in-law, Susan Williams. Survivors include his wife, Dixie of Florida; a son, Cedric Williams and wife Chris, of Tupelo, Mississippi; a daughter, Melania Miles and husband Dean of Texas; grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Matthew Williams and wife Loren, Katelyn Williams, Zachary Mason, Meredith Miles, and Reed Miles; and great grandchildren, Ella Jane and George Williams. He is also survived by his sisters, Sue Folmar and husband Melvin of Alabama, and Linda Robinson of Mississippi; brothers, Cecil Williams of Massachusetts, George Williams and wife Mae of Tennessee, and Steve Williams and wife Janet of Mississippi. Survivors also include sister-in-law, Carrole Cannon and husband Mike, and sister-in-law, Gloria McDaniel of West Monroe, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Military Honor Guard will be participating in the ceremony. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, Louisiana, with Rev. Larry Foster officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send a donation to Parkinson’s Foundation.

A celebration of life will be at their home in Newellton immediately following interment.
