Marion Frances Groome Haney

Marion Frances Groome Haney, beloved wife, mother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the age of 83.

Born on June 30, 1942, Marion was the cherished daughter of Martha Marshall Groome. She graduated from Jett High School with the Class of 1960.

On June 29, 1963, she married the love of her life, Hiram Jackson “Jack” Haney, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion until his passing. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

Marion devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family as a homemaker following the birth of her children, creating a warm and loving home. In December of 1992, she began serving as secretary at Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a steady and trusted presence for 30 plus years. Her dedication to the church reflected her deep faith and servant’s heart.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures - daily devotion, reading novels, tending to her plants, and spending time with those she loved. 

Marion will be remembered for her quiet strength, loving spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved and the Lord she served.

Marion was welcomed into Heaven by her mother, husband, and two sisters, Florence Sanders and Joann Garnett.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Hiram Haney, Jr. (Jennifer) of Terry; Brian Haney of Vicksburg; her cherished grandchildren, Jackson Haney of Terry, Christopher Haney of Vicksburg, and Zane Haney of Terry; as well as many nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and steady presence.

Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2026 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church on Old Hwy 27. Service to celebrate Marion’s life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 2:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church.

Marion’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
