Marsha Odom

Marsha Lynn Odom, 77, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away on July 27, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1948, in Vicksburg to Marcus B. Jones and Dorothy Jones. Marsha often fondly recalled her childhood days spent hunting, fishing, and gardening with her grandparents—experiences that deeply shaped her lifelong love of animals, nature, and the outdoors.

Marsha spent many years living with her cousin Vicki (Bob) Breland during which time she moved with them to Florida, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts before eventually returning to Mississippi. She was a longtime member of the Hermanville Baptist Church and a devoted sports fan who loved following her favorite athletes and teams.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus B. Jones and Dorothy Jones; her grandparents, William Porter Drummonds and Vestelle Drummonds. She is survived by her son, Keith Lockhart, and daughter-in-law, Julie Lockhart, of Madison, MS; her cousins, Vicki (Bob) Breland of Vicksburg MS and Ryan (Sharon) Hood of Clinton, MS.

A memorial service will be held on August 9 at 11:00 AM at Hermanville Baptist Church in Hermanville, MS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local animal rescue league or wildlife rehabilitation organization.
