Mary B. McAmis

Mary B. McAmis passed away on May 2, 2025.  She was 94.

Mary was born Coushatta, LA, living in Natchez, MS for 10 years before moving to Port Gibson, MS in 1974.  She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Elton Lee McAmis, Sr. in 1997, her parents Charles Joseph Brown Jr. and Celestine Brown, her children James Kenneth Boyte, Richard Lavone Boyte and Linda Ann Pitte, brothers Francis Elmo Brown, William C. Brown, Charles J. Brown, Jr., John R. Brown and Benjamin Brown, sisters Rowena Carter, Betty Magee, Josephine, McCain and Lessie Dumas.  

She is survived by her sister Amelia Loftin and brother Joseph Brown.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Wintergreen Cemetery.
