Mary Nell Hawkins McDonald

A graveside service for Mrs. Mary Nell Hawkins McDonald, age 95, will be held at 2:00 PM, October 17, 2021, at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, Louisiana, with Bro. Johnny Wilkins officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana.

Mrs. McDonald passed away at her home Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Newellton. She was born September 5, 1926, in Tensas Parish to Edmond I. Hawkins and Grace Lorine Standiford Hawkins. She married Edwin Randolph McDonald, Jr., and they made their home in Tensas Parish where they raised three children.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Randolph McDonald, Jr.; brother, W. E. Hawkins, Sr.; sister, Hilda Hawkins Bradley; and great grandson, Francis Harrison Treadwell.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her children, Cynthia McDonald Lewellen and husband Mike of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Edwin Randolph “Randy” McDonald, III and wife, Aimee of Newellton, Louisiana, and Julia Dorry McDonald of Shreveport, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mac McDonald, Michael Lewellen, John Lewellen, Mason McDonald, Owen McDonald, and Hayden McDonald.
