Mary E. Moody passed away on March 30, 2025. She was 93.
Mary was born on July 4, 1931, in Thomasville, AL, the daughter of James Vivian Bagley and Ruth Ann Bagley. Her family moved to Estelle, MS and throughout her life she lived in Leland, MS, Rolling Fork, MS, Joliet, IL, Vicksburg, MS and for the past 12 years in Jena, LA.
Mary was a private duty nurse for many years and operated an in home daycare for 30 years. She greatly loved the kids and they loved her. She was an excellent cook. She was a member of Warrenton Independent Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jason Ernest Moody (Deputy Sheriff), her parents, brother Russell Leon Bagley, daughter Shirley Ann Moody Cade, son Wally Ernest Moody, and infant son Bobby Lemar Moody.
She is survived by her son John Edward Moody (Denise Ann Day Moody), brother William Nathaniel Bagley (Daphne Bagley), grandchildren Dayna M. Gresham (Michael), Taylor M. Norris (Todd), Kelly M. Tingle (Dannon) and Stephanie D. Stroud (Allen), 11 great-grandchildren Heather, Ashley, Austin, Ryleigh, Kennedy, Jillian, Dayton, Trent, Madelyn, Presley and Greenly, 1 great-great-grandchild Will and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Todd Norris. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Gresham, Trent Tingle, Steve Moody, Austin Tadlock, Jack Wright and Brian Moody.
