Mary K. Parker passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 77.
Mary was born on February 20, 1947, the daughter of Edward Zimmerman and Hazel Lutes Zimmerman.
Mary K. was born in Blytheville, Ark. She lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico for 12 years. She and her family move to Osceola, Ark where she graduated from Osceola High School in 1965. After graduating, she married Jessie Parker and started a family. In 1978, they began a new adventure to become self-employed farmers and moved to Tallulah, LA. There they farmed and ventured out more by opening a seed company for a few years, Ark-La-Miss Seed Co. In 1985, they moved to Vicksburg, MS to continue farming and began J.Parker Truck. She continued to run J.Parker Trucking after her husband passed, until 2001. When that venture was over, Mary K. worked at Ergon for over 15 years. She was a woman that could do anything she set her mind to. If she wanted something she would build it, sew it or create it herself. She was a strong independent woman to be admired for her ability to do it herself. She loved family, entertaining, dancing, gardening, horseback riding, new ventures and she loved her dogs. She was the most self-sufficient woman I’ve ever known that was determined to do it her way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jessie Earl Parker Sr.
She is survived by her son Jessie Parker, Jr., daughter Tammy P. Tillotson (Mark), brother Edward Zimmerman, Jr., sister Donna Campbell, grandchildren Jessica Jones (Taylor), Linsey Tillotson, Katherine Tillotson, Payton Tillotson, Carley Parker and Cole Parker (Madison), and 6 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Roger Cresswell. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Payton Tillotson, Cole Parker, Charlie Parker, Taylor Jones Kyle Mainous, and Mike Parker.
