Mary Etta Sanderford left this earthly realm on May 2, 2022, to join her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 87 years old and died of congestive heart failure in Rolling Fork, Mississippi.
She was a faithful, giving and compassionate woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was a devoted and loving wife and the mother of 2 children. She was a retired nurse from Sharkey County, Mississippi and spent her life offering spiritual and physical assistance to anyone in need. She will be sorely missed by both family and friends.
She was very artistic and talented and enjoyed flower gardening, oil painting, crocheting, cake decorating and various crafts. She was also an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Vernon O. Sanderford Sr., her parents William and Nevia Walker and her sister Jeanette Holcomb.
She is survived by her son Vernon O. Sanderford, Jr. (Kathy), daughter Vivian Sanderford, brother William Walker, sister Pearl Guidroz, granddaughter Mary Kathryn Tillman and great-granddaughter McKenlee Vest. She is also survived by her fur baby Zack, her devoted miniature schnauzer who stayed in her lap and was her shadow making every step she made.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Glenwood Funeral Home of Rolling Fork, MS, officiated by Elizabeth Franklin. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Mound Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Wayne Tilghman, Clint Norris, Alton Norris, Scott Chick, Mike Guidroz, Pat Walker, Neal Holcomb and Keith Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Norris, Mark Johnson and Roy Sanderford.
