Mary Westmoreland Obituary

Mary Thomas Tarver Westmoreland, age 77, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born June 8, 1943, in Tallulah, Louisiana, to Bunion Wiley and Avis Effie Odom Tarver.

Mary, a graduate of Lake Providence High School, attended Northeast Louisiana University. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Tallulah where she could always be found on the 5th pew.

Mary worked for Sondheimer Lumber Company for over twenty years before becoming a bank teller at Cross Keys Bank, where she later retired to spend time with her family.

Mary was a beloved wife, mother, Meme, and friend to many. She spent her time watching her grandchildren play sports; she enjoyed every opportunity she had to spend time with her grand and great grandchildren. She was an avid LSU fan and loved all sports in general. She enjoyed spending time in the yard and helping others at all cost.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bunion and Avis Tarver, and her brothers, Jack, Robert, and Norman Tarver. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ludia Westmoreland; children Kay Westmoreland Munn (Kevin Munn), Todd Westmoreland, and Lisa Westmoreland Hargrave (Chad Hargrave); sisters Jean Stuart and Barbara Mathews; brother Carl Tarver; grandkids, Hayley O’Briant, Morgan Wallace, Connor Ledet, Hannah Williamson, Cydney Westmoreland, and Max Hargrave; and six great-grandkids, which she loved dearly.

Funeral Services celebrating the life of Mary Westmoreland will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with Bro. Craig West officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00pm, with the funeral beginning at 2:00pm, followed by a graveside burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Ledet, Keith Munn, Jason Trichell, Scott Wallace, Preston Walker, and Timothy Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan O'Briant, Chad Hargrave, and Kevin Munn.

The family would like to express our thanks to the Madison Parish Hospital and St. Dominic’s Hospital for the wonderful help and care given.

Mary always knew her “CUP RUNNETH OVER”. It did, but, it also poured over into the hearts and minds of everyone blessed enough to know her.
