Mary "Tippy" Louise Cupp

Mary Louise “Tippy” Cupp passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 94.

Tippy was born on October 22, 1930, the daughter of Claudious Joseph Bourgoyne and Lilly Mildred Albert Bourgoyne. She married the love of her life Buster Cupp in 1948 and they were married for 72 years. Tippy retired from A&P Tea Company after 31 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-aunt who enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family. She was renowned for her southern biscuits which she would make faithfully every morning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Florene Randall and brother C. J. Bourgoyne.

She is survived by her daughters Janie Ruth Hollowell (Thomas) and Mary Ann Lockhart, sisters Shirley Soverns and Delores Jones and 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Roger Cresswell. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
