Mavis Myers Landers

Mavis Myers Landers, 94, of Utica, MS passed away September 26, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and mamaw. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Braxton, MS to Ivan Cecil Myers Sr. and Myrtle C Kirkland. She married Willard Richard Landers in 1949, and they started a remarkable life together with 3 children.

Mavis was proceeded in death by her parents Ivan Cecil Myers Sr. and Myrtle C Kirkland, her loving husband Willard Richard Landers, her sister Margie Myers Bridges, her daughter Diana Landers, and her son Kenneth Landers.

She is survived by her daughter Carol (Gerald) Bethany of Utica, MS, her brother Ivan Cecil Myers Jr.; six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

A woman of many talents, she loved to cook for her family and go fishing. She spent her career as the nurse for All Saints School. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mavis will be remembered as a loving and caring devoted mother and mamaw whose life was defined by generosity towards others. 

Visitation will be held October 2 from 9-10 with a service to follow.
