Max Morrow, Sr. Obituary

Max Lee Morrow, Sr. passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at his home in Tallulah, Louisiana, at the age of 83, surrounded by his family.

Max was born May 21, 1938, in Tamaroa, Illinois, to Max Franklin and Grace Moriene Sizemore Morrow. He married Betty Marie Bertram Morrow on December 6, 1958, with whom he shared a timeless love. Max served in the United States Air Force as an aviation mechanic. When he received his Honorable Discharge, he bought a service station in Tampa, Florida, where he served the community. Max and Betty later moved to Sondheimer, Louisiana, where he was employed for many years for Marsh Farms as their head mechanic until he retired.

Max was a member of Sondheimer Baptist Church. He was an avid deer hunter, he enjoyed wood working, and he was especially happy when spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and taught his children it doesn’t cost a thing to be nice and to wave at people. He was always ready and willing to help others. His favorite times were spent on the porch in the company of others while drinking coffee and sharing life stories, and they were plentiful.

Max is survived by his children, Maxine Duncan, Max Morrow, Jr., and wife Roseanne, and his baby, Priscilla Mahoney and husband Larry, who is an extraordinary son-in-law and a Blessing to us all; grandchildren, Carrie Morrow, Devin Duncan and Shelby, Sierra Morrow, Max Joseph Morrow, Michael Thornton and wife Tarren, Crystal Marsh, Mary Katherine Goodman and husband Daniel, Adrienne Temple and husband Calvin, Justin Mahoney, Cody Summerscales and husband Joe, Kristen Sullivan, and his “Big A”, Austin Mahoney; great grandchildren, Oliver Duncan, Alex Marsh, Logan Patty, Grace Goodman, Mallorie Temple, Calvin Temple, II, Chloe Temple, Landrie Mahoney, Ezra Thornton, and his special angel, Jade Whitlee Mahoney; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Max is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Grace Moriene; the love of his life, Betty; his son, Nesbit Morrow; his daughter, Barbara Morrow Patty; and his siblings, Ina Longshore, Katherine George, Johnanna Prusacki, and Richard Morrow.
