Mike Carpenter

Gardner Michael Carpenter passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 55.

Mike was born in Vicksburg, MS on December 18, 1969, the son of Gardner Leigh Carpenter and Martha Rose Whitman Carpenter.  He was very well known and was a father figure to all.  His house was always open to everyone.  He loved to get people together for cookouts and family functions.   He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and nephews. He had been attending Home Church with family. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, wife Karen Carpenter, sister Leisa Brown and grandson Brooks Barnette.

He is survived by his daughters Christian Barnette (Blake), Caitlin Carpenter (Thomas Horan) and Caley Williams (James), son William McClellan (Kayla), his father Gardner Carpenter (Sharon), sister Rhonda Howard (Neil) and grandchildren Grayson Williams, Elena Barnette, Sophie Barnette and Karleigh Barnette and multiple nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Michah Reynolds. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Glenwood. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brody Cook, James Williams, Colby Ashley, William McClellan, Joshua Reeves, Taylor Lewis and Michael Whitley. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Olsen, Freeman Sullivan and Robert Carpenter.
