Miyo Oshiro Heggins

Mrs. Miyo Oshiro Heggins died on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Merit Health River-Region Medical Center.  She was 85.
Mrs. Heggins was born on October 20, 1933 in Itoman Okinawa, Japan to her parents Gisei and Tsuru Oshiro.  She had resided in Vicksburg since 1972 where she was the owner-operator of the Discount Furniture Barn.  She loved her grandkids and enjoyed shopping and taking vacations.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry G. Heggins, Sr.; her parents and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons Shigeru Heggins and John H. Heggins (Suzanne) of Vicksburg, MS; daughter Mary Landers (Ralph) of Vicksburg, MS; brothers Gijin Oshiro, Gemei Oshiro and Gihan Oshiro all of Okinawa, Japan; grandchildren Maggie Heggins, Mollie King, Courtney L. Hauptman (Jonathan), Haley Heggins, Madison Heggins and Casey Landers; great-grandchildren Jordan McClelland, Jackson Brooks, Alex Brooks, Keegan King and Hart Keys.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Glenwood Funeral Home,  with Rev. Roger Creswell officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be James Purvis, Tommy Ray Berryhill, Terry Easterling, Seth Carpenter and Cody Zimmerman.  Honorary pallbearers will be T. D. Easterling, William Tyler, Glenn McKay and Billy Joe Heggins.
