Morris Edward Ratliff passed away on April 26, 2026, at his home. He was 79.
Morris was born in Vicksburg, MS on August 10, 1946, the son of the late Carl McKee Ratliff, Sr. and Knoxie Louise Murihead Ratliff.
He served in Vietnam 1963 - 1967. He was a member of First Cavalry during his tour of duty. He retired from SEI Group in 2019, after a very long career supporting our military overseas & stateside.While in the Army he was a decorated Sergeant E-5. He was awarded National Defence Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle) Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device 1960, additional education and training in ATF 21-114, Code of Conduct, Mil Justice, Non Jud Pun, CBR Tng Field Comm Crs.
He is survived by his wife Theresa A. Ratliff, sons Christopher B. Ratliff (Caroline) of Raymond, MS; daughter Vanessa M. Ratliff (Austin); brother Carl M. Ratliff, Jr.; uncle Henry Wayne Muirhead (Lois); aunt Kathryn Kennedy; bonus sons Robert Edwards (Jane Clare) and Michael Edwards (Julie); grandchildren Bryan Ratliff (Scott), Brandi Ratliff Hamilton (Jake), Andrew Gilbert and Molly Clare Gilbert; great-grandchild Sophia Ratliff; bonus grandchildren Payton Edwards (Brooklyn), Megan Edwards, Michael Edwards and Morgan Edwards.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m until 1:30 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, followed by a chapel service until 2:00 p.m. Rev. Brad Hartzog will officiate the service. A graveside service will follow at 2:45 p.m. at Edwards Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Griffin, Bob Harris, Steve Wilson, Percy Worley, Austin Gilbert, Anthony Hardy, Dr. David Headley, Justin McDaniel, Paul Ratliff, Londin Ratliff, Wayne Robinson and Drew Beard.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude.
