Nancy Jane King Heard

Nancy Jane King Heard passed away at her home in Tallulah, Louisiana, Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 82. She was born December 11, 1940, in Greenwood, Mississippi, to Ernest and Nancy Proctor King. Nancy was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Professionally, she worked for 10 years at the PX and retired from Warren County School District in Vicksburg, Mississippi, after 22 years of service as a child nutritionist.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Nancy King; her husband of 65 years, Lonnie Fedrick Heard; sister, Eula Alford; and son, Ernest Fedrick Heard. She is survived by her sister, Judy McCullar; nephew, Lee McCullar (Andrea); daughter, Remonda Phelps (Robert); son, Derek Heard (Brandi); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Nancy will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with Bro. Johnny Magnuson officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Derek Heard, Josh Hayes, Braxton Melillo, Daniel Madison, Lonnie Heard, and Noland L. Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Judge, Justin Young, and Barry Tucker.
