Norman, a retired supervisor at Ergon, was born on December 26, 1944, in Mangham, Louisiana, to the union of Avis and Bunion Tarver. He passed from this life on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Avis and Bunion Tarver; and his brothers, Robert Tarver and Jack Tarver.

Norman was a loving brother and uncle. He was a kindhearted man who would do anything for anyone. He cherished the time he spent with his sibling, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was a hard worker and took pride in all that he did. Norman was fun to be around and always kept everyone laughing with his dry sense of humor. Norman spent most of his days working in the shop, visiting with his siblings, or bee keeping with Todd. He was an avid outdoors man and a great cook.

He is survived by his sons, Kevin and Greg Tarver; his sisters, Jean Stuart (Buddy) of Translyvania, Louisiana, Mary Westmoreland (Ludia) of Tallulah, Louisiana, and Barbara Mathews of Natchitoches, Louisiana; brother, Carl Tarver (Tonya) of Tallulah, Louisiana; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by all.

Pallbearers will be Todd Westmoreland, Michael Stuart, Chad Hargrave, Bide Brown, Patrick Glass, Max Hargrave, and Max Darnell. Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Wallace.

The family will receive friends for visitation at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana. The burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah for family only. The family requests that everyone wear a mask for the visitation.
