Opal Elaine Moore

Opal Elaine Moore passed away at her home on September 18, 2024, at the age of 76. 

Opal was born on March 26, 1948, the daughter of Romie Gray and Iola Guyton Gray.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing Rummikub on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and being with her church friends.  She loved her grandchildren and going camping with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond Moore, Sr., brothers George Gray, Gene Gray, Willie Gray, Cecil Gray, Sr., Ruble Gray, Sr. and sister Dorthie Gillis.  

She is survived by her son Cliff Moore, Jr. (Donna), daughter Shannon Smitherman (Chet), grandchildren Matthew Winstead (Margie), Ashley Moore, Zachary Moore, Savannah Moore and Logan Moore, great-grandchildren Ruby Lynn Winstead, Decovin Wayne Winstead and Scarlett Marie Etheridge, and sister Erma Jean Logan (Billy).

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Wayside Baptist Church.  The service will be officiated by Bro. Wright Everson.  Visitations will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wayside and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.  Interment will follow in Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gerald David Palmer, Kenneth Luke, Brian Luke, Justin Wooten, Dwayne Sumerall and Billy Means.
