Phil Griffing

Claude Phillip Griffing, Sr. died Friday, June 3, 2022, at his residence in Vicksburg. He was 74.

Phil graduated from Rolling Fork High School where he played football. He was a former employee of Vicksburg Chemical Co. for 29 years where he retired when the plant closed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. (Bill) and Effle Lee Cook Griffing and his grandparents, Claudie and Dollie Cook.

Phil is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Cothran Griffing; his son, Phillip Griffing; his daughter, Cindy (Gary) Jackson; 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Justin, Zachary and Makayla; 4 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Aden, Jase and Knox; 2 brothers, Tom (Mel) and Steve (Sue); 2 aunts, Nadine and Zedy and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Pat Daughtry, Billy Bratcher, Timmy Lampkin, Scott McClellan, Daniel Griffing, Mac McKnight, Elton Freeman and Steven McGee.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Jim Thurman, Leo Foster, Jimmy Wright, William Cook, Dr. Walter Johnson, Jack Gillis and Jerry Cook.
