Randall Henderson Obituary

Randall Ashley “Randy” Henderson, 65, died Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, following an apparent stroke and several months of poor health.

Born on February 17, 1960, in Long Beach, California, Randy spent his first five years the son of a Naval officer, living in various places before settling in Vicksburg in 1965.

Randy would remain a Mississippi resident for the rest of his life: 38 years in Vicksburg, 22 in Robinsonville, and the past four months in Hattiesburg.

He graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1979. From Mississippi College he received his B.S. in 1995, and his M.S. in 1997, both in Communications.

Like his father, Randy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked a variety of jobs before his career as a table games dealer in several casinos for 25 years, from which he retired in 2024.

Randy loved antiques, history, playing the guitar, and exploring the small towns of Mississippi. He was a master of impersonations, quick with a joke, and could make friends with anybody.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Joan Barland Leese, and his two brothers, Rob and Rusty.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Raymond and Jerrie Henderson, of Mendenhall; stepfather, Allan Leese, of Vicksburg; sister, Laurie (Irv) Jones, of Brandon; nieces, Kelly Henderson, of Corsicana, TX; and Blaire (Josh) Kibler, of Willowick, OH; nephews,

Brandon (Sara) Henderson, of Dallas, TX; and Drew Thompson of Picayune; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.

A graveside service will take place 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg. Glenwood Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Mississippi Food Network.
