REATER MAE BOYTE (McFatter) October 11, 1931 – January 7, 2021
Oldest of four children born to Melvin and Lily McFatter. Born October 11, 1931 in Fayette, Mississippi.
She grew up in Port Gibson. Her dad owned and operated the McFatter Drug store on Market Street in Port Gibson.
She graduated from Port Gibson High School and attended Mississippi Collage. She excelled in horses and art. She was creative in flower arraigning and painting in multiple mediums.
She married Edward Denon Boyte in October 1951. He worked for his uncle at the Boyte Motor Co. and graduated from LSU with a degree in Civil engineering.
She spent most of her life in Nashville, Tennessee.
Reater was proceeded in death by her parents and husband.
Survived by her daughter, Deborah Boyte; son, David Boyte; sisters Carolyn Dobbs and Shirley Daigle and brother Melvin McFatter; grandsons Paul Boyte (Jenna); Michael Boyte (Sabrina); and two great-granddaughters, Alexandra and Olivia Boyte.
Due to Covid concerns, there will be a private graveside funeral for the immediate family only at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson.
