Rita Smith Foster

Rita Smith Foster, 64, of Vicksburg, MS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her home.

Rita was born on April 16, 1961, in Helena, Arkansas to Lemuel (Lee) and Kathleen Smith. She enjoyed watching her football team on weekends. Her true passion was being a Gigi and Mawmaw, even to the ones that didn’t belong to her. She loved spending all her free time with her family.

Rita survived by her husband, Gaston Dale Foster, son Lemuel Michael Smith (Angela), Natalie Leach (Bobby, Jr.), Rhonda Taylor (Russ), brothers Bennie (Joey) Smith (Meelisa) and Everett Marlin Smith (Janette), sister Threasa Robertson (Charlie), grandkids Ashton (Storm), Mia, Katie, Bradley, Jaycob, Landon, Madden, Sophee, and Emersyn. She also had 2 great grandkids, Everlee and Levi and many friends and extended family members.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lee and Kathleen Smith and brother Terry Smith.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, at 2pm. Visitation will be 1pm till the hour of the service

Family and friends are welcome to attend to honor and celebrate Rita’s life.

Honorary pallbearers include Lane Allen, Nathan Smith, Billy Leach, Bobby Leach Sr., and Brad Taylor.
