Robert Burnham Breazeale, 86, departed his earthly life and passed into eternity on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson, Mississippi, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and Wednesday, prior to the service, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Service begins at 10:00 A.M. followed by graveside service at Shelton Cemetery.
Robert was born February 2, 1939, in Neshoba County, Mississippi to Robert Oscar Breazeale and Ernestine Burnham Barnes. The family moved to Rankin County, Mississippi where he graduated from Brandon High School in 1958. As a skilled athlete, he received a football scholarship to Hinds JR College, where he met his future beloved wife, Carol Kavanaugh from Claiborne County, Mississippi.
On August 23, 1960, Robert and Carol married at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Port Gibson. Their love produced three children, Robert Kavanaugh, Brent Burnham, and Mary Elizabeth (Betsy).
Robert entered military service in 1961 in the Mississippi Air National Guard. He used his Television Electronics Degree to start Breazeale TV Service in Port Gibson. He continued his career with Prolon Corporation upon retirement. He never met a stranger and loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and remote-controlled model airplanes.
Along with his parents, Robert is also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Kavanaugh Breazeale, and son, Brent Burnham Breazeale. His Stepfather, Frederick Barnes.
He is survived by his son, Robert Kavanaugh, (Connie), daughter, Betsy, (Will), brother, James Paul Breazeale, and Sisters Bettye Hinton and Barbara Smith, and his grandchildren, Cecile Murtaugh (Thomas), Ashli Breazeale, Mary Shelton Wilson and Charlotte Catherine Wilson. Great Grandchildren, Peyton, Mason, and Hadley Murtaugh and Brother-in-Law, John Thomas (Tom) Kavanaugh III, (Bobbie).
Pallbearers will be Tom Kavanaugh, Jeff Roberts, Fred Stuart, Shelton Raner, Branch Dildine and Will Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Kavanaugh, Greg Dunn.
