A memorial service for Robert James ‘Bobby’ Sandoz of St. Joseph, Louisiana will be held at the Newellton Union Church in Newellton, Louisiana, on Monday, February 10th at 11:00am. Bobby passed away after a sudden illness on February 6th.
Bobby was born May 28, 1945. He was a native of New Iberia and a graduate of New Iberia High School. After high school, he entered the National Guard and attained a rank of sergeant. He later went on to have a career in oilfield sales, where he spent the last 20 years with NOV Varco before retiring to Lake Bruin.
Bobby was a friend to all who knew him. To his family, he was the jokester, the chef, and the comforter. He was an active member of the Newellton Union Church and a member of the Lake Bruin Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and cooking for events.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harold Joseph Sandoz and Marie Richard Sandoz, his mother-in-law Hazel Green DeWitt, his brother Charles Harold Sandoz, his brother-in-law Keith Eldridge, and his grandson Clint Robert Justilien.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Edith DeWitt Sandoz of St. Joseph, his daughter Stacey Justilien (Joey) of New Iberia, his son Stuart Sandoz also of New Iberia and his grandson Chase Justilien of Baton Rouge; children, James Clifton Wilkerson of Llano, Texas and Margaret Wilkerson (Jeff) of St. Joseph; three sisters, Elaine Beinvenu (Ray) of New Iberia, Jae Sturtevant (James) of McKinney, Texas and Dalie Berard (David) of New Iberia.
Bobby will be laid to rest in the Sandoz family plot in New Iberia, Louisiana.
