Robert Van Sibley Sr.

Robert Van Sibley Sr. passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025. He was 84 years old. He was born in Vicksburg, MS on May 5, 1941, to John Elbert Sibley and Susie Webb Sibley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working. He loved sitting on his front porch visiting with kin folks and friends. 

He is preceded by his parents, brothers, Wayne and H.C. Sibley; sisters, Susie Pettway and Jessie Marie Stroot. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Sibley; son, Robert Van Sibley Jr. (Angel); daughter, Tammy Sue Sibley Lowry (Scott); brother, Charles Sibley; sisters, Mary Ann Mathes and Peggy Nezat; grandchildren, Anniston Lowry and Hope Rae Sibley, Hope Reagan Gatchell, Amy Gatchell, Gracie Gatchell, Ashley Gatchell; great grandchildren, Michael Brewer, Lily Rose Johnson and Joanna Gatchell. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
