Rubye Curtis Thompson

Rubye Curtis Thompson a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 93.

She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening, and working alongside her daughter at Rebecca Rose flea market. She worked many years at Vicksburg Evening Post and Warren County Tax Collector.

Rubye is preceded in death by her parents Jeff Wade and Helen Cupit, spouses Clyde Curtis and Joe Frank Thompson, brother Jeff Wade Jr., and
son Don Curtis.

Rubye is survived by her daughter Sherril Curtis Strong (David), daughter in law Cheryl Curtis, granddaughters Leslie Curtis Sims, Lori Curtis Harris (Jacob), Jennifer Van Dyk (Dewald), grandson Brad Strong (Candace), and 9 great grandchildren.
 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 9 AM to 11 AM at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica, MS. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM at Utica Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Jerry Strong, Bill Dreher, Jacob Harris, Hayes Welch, Darrell Baker, and Dewayne Blackwell.
