Sharon Ann McElhenney

Sharon Ann McElhenney, 77, of Vicksburg, MS passed away peacefully on April 1, 2022 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Sharon was born in Anniston, AL, later lived in Lubbock, TX, and Meridian, MS. She settled in Vicksburg, MS where she raised her family. She worked in banking all of her life retiring from Bancorp South and Trustmark Bank. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Sharon will be deeply missed and always loved and remembered. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie D and Margaret Satterfield; brothers, Gary Dewayne Satterfield and Charles Ray Satterfield; grandson, Chris Beard; great-granddaughter, Aubreigh Claire McElhenney.

She is survived by her two children, Regina Ann Foster (David) of Vicksburg, MS, and John Scott McElhenney (Hope) of Lucedale, MS; grandchildren, Nikki Burnside (Robert) of Vicksburg, Johnathan Beard, Shelby Ann Birdsong (Blake) of Denton, TX, John Ross McElhenney of Hattiesburg, MS, Connor Scott McElhenney of  Hattiesburg, MS, Grace McElhenney of George, CO, and Madison McElhenney of Lucedale, MS, Alex Eagleson of Mobile, AL; great-grandchildren, Skylar Ann Beard, Madison Beard, Christopher Beard, Anniston Beard, Matthew Burnside, Grace Burnside, Nicholi Beard, Brayden Birdsong, Lukas Birdsong, Bristolyn Ann Birdsong, Ava McElhenney and Paisley Ann McElhenney. 

A celebration of her life will be April 4, 2022 at Glenwood funeral home in Vicksburg, MS. Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM, funeral service 11:00 AM, burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pastor Tony Winkler will officiate the service. 

Pallbearers will be Connor McElhenney, Blake Birdsong, Robert Burnside, Mitch Satterfield, Billy Leach. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnathan Beard and John Ross McElhenney.

The family would like to specially thank and remember the staff of Shady Lawn Nursing Home for the outstanding care and loving family environment given to Sharon in her time spent there.
