Shirley Mae (Nevois) Lurk

Shirley was born to the late Noah and Cora (nee Roy) Nevois on May 17, 1940, in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois. 

Shirley was married to Thomas (Toddy) Lurk for 60 years. They are survived by 4 children, Duane Lurk (Carla), Dean Lurk, Tammy Bost (Danny) and Danny Lurk (Emily).  The grandchildren included Jackie Bost, Kelsey (Bost) Jones, Wesley Bost, Kristen (Bost) Holm, Caroline Bost, Tyler Bost, Josh Lurk, Ryan Lurk, Jacob Lurk, Lauren Lurk Powell, Danielle Lurk and Cory Lurk.  Shirley also has 10 great grandchildren. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Nevois and Cora (nee Roy) Nevois, brother Donald (Fuzzy) Nevois, sister Arvellia Nevois Roscow, grandchildren Cory Lurk, Tyler Bost and Wesley Bost. 

Shirley has been a Claiborne County resident since 1968 and was well known for her 40+ years working at Claiborne Hardware, where she greeted everyone with her beautiful smile.  Prior to moving to Mississippi, Shirley lived in Prairie du Rocher and Modoc, Illinois. 

Shirley was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Gibson. 

Shirley enjoyed crocheting, fishing, picking pecans and spending time with her family.   

Visitation - October 13, 2025: 9:30 AM till 11:00 AM - at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Gibson 

Mass - October 13, 2025: 11:30 AM.  There will be no grave side service at this time.
