Shirley Johnson Waldrop, 82, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on the morning of July 13, 2021. There she was reunited with her sweetheart of 55 years, Edward Earl, and united with her personal Lord and Savior.
Mrs. Waldrop was born in Jones County, Mississippi to Rosure and Agnes Johnson on January 16, 1939. She resided there until her mid-twenties and then moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi which would become her home. In 1965, Ed and Shirley became husband and wife on June 13th. They renewed their wedding vows in June 2015. Mrs. Shirley held many positions with various home health agencies as an office administrator until her retirement in 2019 from HEA (HMI Buying Group). She was a member of Bovina Baptist Church.
Mrs. Waldrop was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Waldrop, brother, Arnold Johnson, and her parents. Mrs. Waldrop is survived by daughter Alisia Ellis of Byram, brother Charles Johnson of Laurel (Linda), grandchildren Casey Ellis (Rachel), and Kristen Turnbow. Also, her cherished great grandchildren Macie and Logan Ellis, and Dylan and Pierce Turnbow. Everyone that knew Mrs. Shirley loved her and had nothing but wonderful words to say of her. She will be missed by many.
Pallbearers are Richard Carroll, Steve Cooper, Casey Ellis, Tim Edwards, Jerrad Gleese, and Bubba Rowland. Honorary pallbearers Kay Boolos, Peggy Dendy, and Sandy Vickers.

Services will be held by Brother Randy Burns of Bovina Baptist Church and former pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Brother Ron Burch, on July 16, 2021 at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service at 12 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
