Sidney Neal Fletcher, Sr. passed away June 6, 2025. He was 89 years old.
Sidney was born on September 23, 1935, in Vicksburg, Ms., the son of Henry Fletcher and Minnie G. Fletcher. Sidney was a welder by trade. He was a member of local 619 Pipefitters and Plumbers' Union and the Business Agent for years before retiring and going on to become a Baptist Preacher. He studied and graduated from The Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, Florida on December 6, 1983, and served the Lord around the state of Louisiana until retirement. Sidney loved hunting, fishing, family time.
Sidney is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 35 years Hazel F. Fletcher, a grandson Cory Fulgham, brothers Carroll fletcher and Freddie Fletcher, sisters Janie Anderson and Betty Jo Anderson and a son Mike Hill. He is survived by his sons Sidney Neal Fletcher, Jr. and Gary Edward Fletcher, daughters Barbara Diane Wright, Carolyn Joyce Peebles, and Sharon Renee Fulgham, sisters Patsy Renfroe, Barbara Ann Moody, and Linda Nations, grandchildren Kasman Massey (Remy Massey), Joshua Peebles, Leann Burleson (Brad Burleson), Kellie Pierce (Dr. Samuel Pierce), Ashlie Fulgham, Kyle Fulgham, Ashlee Fletcher, Ciera Fletcher, Amber Zealey (Alex Zealey), Kasey Terrell (Jon Terrell), and John D. Fletcher (Amanda Fletcher), and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family would like a special thanks to the staff and employees of Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility of Tallulah, La. for the loving care they gave him for the past 12 years.
