Susan Denise Johnson

Susan Lynn Johnson passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at East Jefferson Hospital in New Orleans, LA. She was born on November 4, 1962, in Vicksburg, MS.

She is preceded by her parents, Raymond G. Lynn and Doris Pettway Lynn; daughter, Brandy Lynn Johnson; brother, Charles Ray Lynn; sisters, Deborah Lynn and Joann Lynn.

Susan leaves behind a loving and devoted family; her husband of 44 years, Howard J. Johnson; daughter, Lauren Johnson Mathes; son-in-law, Wesley Mathes; and two grandsons, Hayden Tanner Mathes and Clayton Walker Mathes.

Susan retired as director IV of 3 counties for the State Department of Health after 31 years of service. Since retirement Susan loved spending time with her husband and family. She especially loved following her grandson's sporting events. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Known as the "light" everywhere she went. 

Funeral arrangements are Friday, February 28, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10am to 12pm. With the funeral service at 12pm, Immediately following the service, Interment will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Barnes, Hayden Mathes, Bob Burr, Mark Harrison, Eric Pettway, Glen Redditt, Billy Lynn and Earl Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Mathes, Shelby Burr, Tom Caruthers, Brian Johnson and James Hancock.
