Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Simmons Stutts, age 68, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana, with Brother Robbie Simmons and Brother Buddy Simmons officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with the funeral service starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the funeral service in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, Louisiana, under the direction of Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Susan, a resident of Tallulah, Louisiana and Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at home with her loving family surrounding her. She was born November 5, 1956, in Delhi, Louisiana, to Oscar and Myrtle Simmons. She was a teacher for 12 years at The Tallulah Delta Head Start, where she loved all of her "babies".
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Myrtle Simmons; husband of 49 years, Wayne Stutts; her baby boy, Vince Stutts; brothers, Larry, Tommy, and Wayne Simmons; sister, Judith Rhodes, sister-in-law, Billie Ruth Simmons; and her best friend, Flo Toney.
Susan leaves to cherish her memories, her two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Jami and James Duncan of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Kim and Brian Donham of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three grandsons, Dylan Vogel of Tallulah, Louisiana, Cameron Donham (Mary Rollins) and Landry Donham (Kayla Carlock) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two brothers, Robbie Simmons (Janet) of Jena, Louisiana, and Buddy Simmons (the late Billie Ruth) of Epps, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Marc Simmons, Rob Simmons, Derek Heard, Jeffery Simmons, Jason Hale, Brad Beaube, and Justin Purvis. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Toney, Kevin Graham, Quintin Purvis, Neal Horath, and Justin Arbuckle.
The family would like to thank Marie's Family Healthcare Sitter Service for their years of caring, compassion, and love. Mrs. Matilda Johnson, we could never thank you enough for everything that you have done for Mama and us two girls. To Harbor Hospice, thank you to all of the staff for the great care and compassion shown to our mother. It was greatly appreciated.
