Suzanne Jones McKay, 96, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was born on October 11, 1929, in Winston County, Mississippi, to Wayne and Amanda Jones.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman McKay; her son, Jerry; grandsons Niles and Cain; and her five siblings.
She is survived by her children Kenny McKay, Diane McKay, and Paul McKay; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were blessed by her steady love, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion.
Known for her deep love of family, Suzanne lived her life centered on service, care, and kindness. She was a dedicated wife and mother whose home was always open and warm. She also devoted many years as a teacher’s aide for special-needs children, offering patience, encouragement, and compassion to students and families who cherished her presence.
Her legacy is one of quiet strength, generosity, and a heart that welcomed everyone. Suzanne’s greatest joy was found in her family, and she poured her life into nurturing the people she loved.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral service will be at 2pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, visitation will be from 1 pm until the hour of service, followed by interment at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home Pastor Mike Evans will officiate the service. Pall bearers will be Colby McKay, Caleb McKay, Sam McKay, Danny McKay, Daryl Jones, and Pete Canizaro. Barry McKay and David Canizaro are honorary pall bearers. A celebration of life will be held at Hawkins United Methodist Church for family and friends immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hawkins United Methodist Church.
