Thomas Winston Carpenter, 67, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026. He was born in Starkville, Mississippi, on October 16, 1958.
Thomas was a faithful member and deacon at Crossway Church, where he served for many years as a Life Group leader in the Children’s Department. He was also actively involved in the church’s Second Saturday and Crossway Men’s ministries. He dedicated 33 years of service to Anderson-Tully Lumber Company.
He was an avid Mississippi State fan. He also enjoyed coin collecting, browsing antique stores, and spending time with his family. Above all, he cherished his role as “Papaw” to his granddaughter, Saylor.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Goodwin Carpenter; his daughter, Virginia Hughes (Steve); his son, Eric Carpenter (Madison); his granddaughter, Saylor Carpenter; his mother, Mary Carpenter; and his sisters, Martha Skinner (Carl) and Marilyn Lee (Bill). He was preceded in death by his father, Jewel Winston Carpenter.
Services will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. T.J. Tennison officiating. A visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.
