Thomas Vollie Scott Jr., or Tommy, 53, of Rolling Fork, MS, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 in Greenwood, MS.

Private family funeral services will be held at 9:00am on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Rolling Fork First Baptist Church with Pastor Millard Caulder of Lambert First Baptist Church officiating. Roadside visitation following funeral. Burial will follow at the Mound Cemetery with private graveside service for family after. Pallbearers will be Jerry Keever, Randy Scott, Tom Scott, Ryan Scott, Charlie Darden, Feliciano Grimaldo, Sr., and Brad Craddock. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Billarreal, Carlo Caselli, Vicks Phelps, IV, Eddie Holcolmb and Feliciano Grimaldo, Jr. “Cheeto.” Arrangements are by Glenwood Funeral Home.

Tommy was born in Greenville, MS to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Scott Sr. on June 2, 1967. He was a graduate of Sharkey Issaquena Academy, MS Delta Com. College, and Delta State University, but only after each institution nearly had to be burned down to get him to leave. He began his career at ripe, old age of 15, as an orderly at Sharkey Issaquena Community Hospital and ended his career there and at Rolling Fork Medical Clinic as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Superman, Champion of the community, and aka “Doc Tommy,” at the age of 53. He always considered the hospital his second home and the staff his second family. Tommy had an incredible love for his community and he never met a stranger. He is survived by three beautiful children (because how could Tommy produce anything less): Nikki Scott, 26, Tom Scott, 23, and Anna Scott, 15, his wife of 28 years, Jennifer Scott, who deserves a jewel in her crown in heaven for getting a saddle on that wild, unruly buck after so many others tried and failed, parents, Thomas Sr., 80, Faye, 81, and his brother, Randy, 58.

The family wishes to thank Brian Hill, RN and the medical staff at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
