Mrs. Vivian Alice Welch Eads, age 92, died Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in Texarkana, Arkansas following a long illness. Mrs. Eads was born January 22, 1928 in Epps, Louisiana, but at an early age moved with her family to Newellton, Louisiana where she remained for all but the most recent years of her life. She was a long-time member of the Newellton Union Church and, more recently, the First Baptist Church of Newellton.
Visitation will be held at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Tallulah, Louisiana from 12:30 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 28, 2020. Immediately following visitation, Mrs. Eads will be moved to Newellton, Louisiana for interment in Legion Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating.
Mrs. Eads is survived by two sons, James W. Eads, Jr. and wife Lena of Monroe, Louisiana and Roger D. Eads and wife Daphne of Mena, Arkansas; brother, Bluford B. Welch of Pencil Bluff, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Jane Welch of Longview, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 2 nephews.
Mrs. Eads was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Eads, Sr.; her parents, George D. Welch and Josie V. Welch; and brother, George D. Welch.
