A graveside service for Mr. Warren Alexander Hopkins, Sr., age 82, will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah, Louisiana, Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Mitchell of Newellton, Louisiana, officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah. Music will be provided by Jack Harper of Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Mr. Hopkins, a life-long resident of Tallulah, Louisiana, was born December 8, 1937, to George Alexander and Enola Bernice Couch Hopkins. He went home to his Heavenly Father Sunday, October 18, 2020.
Mr. Hopkins was a local farmer and owner of Montrose Gin. He was a member of Tallulah First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, trustee, and Sunday School teacher. He and his wife spent several years working with Louisiana Campers on Mission, serving as president. Mr. Hopkins loved his God, family, and fellow man. He touched the lives of many young men as he taught them about farming, ginning cotton, welding, and life in general.
Mr. Hopkins is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Busby Hopkins; children, Andy Hopkins (Rita) of Thibodaux, Louisiana, and Jan Nolan (widow of Marty) of Vicksburg, Mississippi; grandchildren, Mysti Owen (Trenton), WT Hopkins (Stacey), and Crissy Rushing; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Hutchinson and Francis Rayburn; two brothers, Wayne Hopkins and Mitch Hopkins; and one sister-in-law, Cathy Holmes.
The family is very grateful to the wonderful sitters who helped care for him, Crossroads Hospice, and Dr. Albritton. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
