William Allen Hood died peacefully Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was 74.
Allen was born was born in Yazoo City, MS. He was a lifelong, dedicated member of the Church of the Holy Trinity where he served as a member of the vestry. As a professional, he spent 50+ years as an oil and gas attorney practicing in Louisiana and Mississippi.
He is survived by his son, William Allen Hood, II (Holley); his sister, Angie Miller (Don); and his granddaughter, Kate Hood.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Daria Nosser Hood; his parents, Willie Earl and Joe Hood; and his granddaughter, Caroline Hood.
Allen will be remembered for the deep love he held for those around him. He leaves behind not only family, but countless friends and loved ones who were touched by his kindness.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the church parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Caroline McCollum Simrall Hood Memorial Scholarship at the University of Mississippi.
