William E. Miller known as Pat to his family and friends. Pat was born on May the 20th 1945 to Wesley Dallas Miller and Erma Earl Thompson Miller.
Pat was number eight of ten children. He grew up in Anguilla, MS where he was active in sports at Anguilla High School. He loved football, running track and baseball. When pat turned 18, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Mayport, FL. first at the Naval Air Station then on a Destroyer the U.S.S Stribling DD867. Pat was in the Navy for six years. Four years active duty two years reserved. While on the Destroyer in 1966 his brother Kenny enlisted and was stationed on the Stribling also. They were on the Stribling together for one year. After four years of active-duty Pat was released to the reserved for two years. Pat was very proud of his service for his country.
Pat then moved to Vicksburg where he worked construction mostly. He loved to paint and became really good at it. Then Pat went to work for Corps of Engineers where he retired after 20 years. After his retirement he returned to contracting and painting for himself. Before going to work for the Corps of Engineers, he met and married Suzanne Strickland. They had a daughter Patrice Miller Wright.
Pat loved sports football mostly. He and his brother Robert spent a lot of time together during football season. Pat also loved to fish. He and his brother Kenny were fishing partners for several years. Pat drove a motor whale boat while in the navy, so he loved driving the bass boat when they went fishing.
Pat loved spending time with his daughter Patrice. They would go out to eat downtown at the Waterfront. Also, Patrice would spend a day with him on the government boat he was working on. That was a special day for him. He was proud of Patrice and her accomplishments.
His favorite team was the Buffalo Bills; they could do no wrong.
Pat often spoke of the really good times he spent with each and every one of his brothers and sister in Nitta Yuma, Rolling Fork, Anguilla and Vicksburg. Pat went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2025.
He is preceded in death by parents, Wesley Dallas Miller and Erma Earl Thompson Miller; brothers, Wesley Dallas Miller, Jr., Joseph Dallas Miller, Clifton Miller, Sr., Cecil Miller, Sr., Robert Wayne Miller, Johnny Miller, James Mitchell Miller; sister, Lavera Miller; nephews, Kenneth Matthew Miller, Michael Wayne Miller, James Martin Miller, Richard Earl Miller, Cecil Miller, Jr. and Wesley C. Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Miller; children, Patrice Miller Wright (Mike), Patrick Miller, Susan Miller; brother, Kenneth K Miller (Bernadette); numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth K Miller, J.W. Clark, Gus Grimshel, Johnny Grimshel, Jackson Miller and Chance Curtis.
Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
