William (Bill) Beddow Stephens passed away on July 20, 2024 at University Medical Center. He was born on August 29, 1947 in Vicksburg, MS.
He was preceded in death by his son William Stephens, Jr & his parents Aubrey & Edith Stephens.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Shirley Stephens of Vicksburg, 2 daughters Candy Anderson (Steven) of Sebastopol, & Jennifer Nugent (Troy) of Vicksburg, a son Chris Stephens of Vicksburg, grandchildren Turner Williams (Danielle), Harley Robbins (Bret), Candace Nugent, Cole Anderson, Maverick Nugent, Payton Anderson (Beverly), Maddy Anderson, great grandchildren Cooper Williams, Henry Williams, Kady Anderson, Ruskin Robbins, & his brother Aubrey Stephens, Jr.
Bill was a hard worker that loved to work with his hands. He was a machinist by trade, but found his true calling when he moved to Columbus, MS & took a civilian job on the Air Force Base. There he had access to a ceramic shop on base, & that’s where his interest for ceramics & pottery started. He was able to build a life long career doing exactly what he loved to do. For over 50 years he has created & produced ceramic molds & bisque that have been used by hobbyists & well known artists all over the United States.
A visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, there will also be a short visitation Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 10:00 am, with service to follow at 11:00 am in the chapel at Glenwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Turner Williams, Cole Anderson, Maverick Nugent, Payton Anderson, Bret Robbins, & Wayne Parker.
The family would like to express appreciation to the doctors, nurses, & staff of University Medical Center who so kindly & lovingly cared for Bill and his family during his final days.
